Visit the church-mausoleum where Tsar Kaloyan, queens, and many other members of the royal family and Bulgarian aristocracy are buried.
Climb Tsarevets Hill, where you will find the remains of the castle and the church of the Bulgarian tsars. Visit the fortress, the Patriarchal Church, the Royal Palace, and Emperor Baldwin’s Tower.
Stroll along the Artisan Street, where you will have the opportunity to pass by workshops owned by Bulgarian families for generations, preserving ancient traditions. Take the chance to see a fully functional copper workshop, as well as a pottery workshop where you can observe the preserved technique of creating royal sgraffito ceramics from the 12th–14th centuries.
